This wall hanging reproduction of bonded stone is found at the Themistoclean Wall near the Kerameikos in Athens. National Museum, Athens.The base had supported a statue of a kouros. There is a charm in the design of the evenly spaced shields and figures of the warriors and in the stately procession of the short maned horses. The horses, with their heads in different positions and with admirably rendered bodies, show a greater advancement in technical skill than the men who still advance in the typical position of the kouros of the sixth century.
