Casting is hand finished with an Antique Patina. Made to order will take 2-3 weeks. About the Goddess Aphrodite -This bonded limestone head of Aphrodite was sculptured from the full figure sculpture of the armless Greek Goddess Aphrodite. In 1820 a peasant named Yorgos found her broken body in an underground cavern on the Ęgean island of Melos.There were actually two different Goddess Aphrodites, one was the daughter of Uranus, the other the daughter of Zeus and Dione. The first, called Aphrodite Urania, was the goddess of spiritual love. The second, Aphrodite Pandemos, was the goddess of physical attraction.Even though Aphrodite was also known as the goddess of chastity, she had many affairs with both gods and mortals. Aphrodite was worshipped especially on the islands of Cyprus and Kythera. As goddess of love she was instrumental in the myths about Atalanta, Hippolytus, Myrrha, and Pygmalion. Adonis and Anchises were her human lovers.
